Crista Ann Ames
Crista Ann Ames is a sculptor working primarily in ceramics and textiles. Layering elements of mythology, iconography and personal narrative, Crista explores the relationship between mankind’s animal nature and the ways in which people establish and sustain personal relationships.
Crista obtained her BFA in ceramics and minor in art history in 2008 from Washington State University, Pullman. After completing post-baccalaureate studies at Utah State University, Logan, she earned her MFA in ceramics from the University of Montana, Missoula. While at the Bray, Crista was awarded the Windgate Scholarship and has since been a resident at the Clay Studio of Missoula and Red Lodge Clay Center.
