Sunshine Cobb was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and grew up in southern California. She received her MFA in ceramics from Utah State University in 2010 and a BA in studio art from California State University at Sacramento in 2004. She focuses her talent on functional ware, embracing the richness of earthenware and currently is exploring the challenge of electrogama (electric firing). She was a summer resident at the Bray in 2011 and later returned as the 2012–2013 Lincoln Fellow and the 2013–2014 Lilian Fellow. She currents works and lives in Sacramento, California.
