Chris Pickett's functional work focuses on physical and psychological comfort through generous volumes and soft surfaces. Chris received a BFA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 2001 and an MFA from the University of Florida in Gainsville in 2010. He has been a studio assistant at Arrowmont School of Craft in Tennessee and Peters Valley Craft Center in New Jersey. For the seven years between schooling, Chris was a studio potter in Chattanooga. Chris exhibits and sells his work in galleries across the country. Chris was the a long-term resident artist and 2012–2013 MJD Fellow and 2013–2014 Windgate Fellow at the Bray.
